SMC common problems and solutions

1. Sticky film

Formation reason: mold surface finish is not good

Solution: Increase mold finish

Formation reason: material shrinkage rate is too large or too small

Solution: Improve the shrinkage performance of the material

Cause: high pressure

Solution: reduce forming pressure appropriately

Formation reason: die ejection rod is not parallel

Solution: Check whether the ejector rod is balanced

2, lack of material, porosity

Cause: lack of pressure

Solution: Add some pressure

Formation reason: insufficient exhaust gas

Solution: Increase the number of exhaust

Formation reason: mold temperature is too high or too low

Solution: Adjust mold temperature

Formation reason: insufficient material

Solution: Add more materials

Formation reason: pressing speed is too fast or too slow

Solution: Adjust the speed of closing mold

3. Warping and deformation

Formation reason: pressure holding time is too short, assimilation is not sufficient

Solution: Increase the pressure holding time

Formation reason: material shrinkage rate is too large

Solution: Change the material shrinkage rate

Formation reason: mold temperature is too high

Solution: Adjust mold temperature appropriately

Formation reason: no shape after the mold

Solution: After the mold, the product will be shaped until the temperature drops

4. Carbonization

Formation reason: there are dead corners in the mold

Solution: Improve the die exhaust

Formation reason: insufficient exhaust gas

Solution: Increase the number of exhaust

Formation reason: mold temperature is too high

Solution: Reduce mold temperature

5. Crack

Formation reason: insufficient curing, mold temperature discomfort

Solution: Increase curing time and adjust mold temperature

Formation reason: material shrinkage rate is too large or too small

Solution: Adjust the shrinkage rate of materials

Formation reason: ejector rod ejector imbalance

Solution: Check whether the ejector rod of the mold is parallel

Formation reason: inlay temperature is not appropriate

Solution: Insert proper preheating

Formation reason: the surface of the mold is not smooth

Solution: Increase the surface finish of the mold

6. Bubble

Formation reason: mold temperature is too low, insufficient curing

Solution: Increase mold temperature, increase curing time

Cause: Moisture in the material

Solution: Check the moisture detection of raw materials

Formation reason: mold temperature is too high

Solution: Reduce the temperature of the mold

7. White dots

Formation reason: mold closing progress is too slow

Solution: fast mold closing after feeding

Formation reason: mold temperature is too high, the material has been pre-cured

Solution: Reduce mold temperature

Cause: Too many times and time of vent

Solution: fast exhaust after mold closing, reduce the number of exhaust
